William "Bill" Riley

William “Bill” Riley, 78, died on Monday January 18th. He is survived by his wife of over 48 years, Elaine, his children Lynn (Mike), David, & Greg (Beth), his two grandsons, Donovan and Taylor, his sisters, Anna McParlane and Betty Mahoney, brother James Riley, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Mary (Neal) and James, his sister Peggy Hausrath and his brother John. Bill was born in Buffalo, NY on July 21, 1931. Bill graduated from Canisius High School and attended the University of Buffalo. He joined the United States Marines and served during the Korean War. He worked for IBM as a programmer, salesman and he excelled as a teacher in New York, Louisiana and Texas for 38 years. After his retirement from IBM he worked for United American Insurance Company, in data processing. He was an avid player of bridge, sophisticated computer games and a dedicated book reader. A funeral mass of Christian burial will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 22, 2010, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1515 N. Greenville Avenue, Allen, Texas, with Reverend Timothy A. Church officiating. Rosary services will be held at 7:15 p.m., on Thursday evening at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Catholic Church.
