William Willis “Pat” Patton, Jr., age 81, of Frisco, Texas passed away on February 28, 2013. He was born on January 9, 1932 in Warrenton, Virginia to Mary Stone and William Willis Patton. Pat (nickname Scurvy) was a graduate of VMI Class of 1952. On May 19, 1956, Pat married Helene Francis Gay in Shively, Kentucky. Pat is a Retired Lt. Colonel in the US Army. During his military career Pat was an Armor Officer and a member of the 101St Airborne Division. After retiring from military he became a History Professor at Christian Brothers College in St. Louis, Mo.
Pat is survived by his two children, Curtis Patton of Frisco, Texas and Susan Patton of Richmond, Texas; seven grandchildren, Christopher Patton and his wife, Elizabeth, Kelley Bowden and her husband, Jason, Joseph Gentile, Bridget Allen and her husband, Donald, Hayley Gentile, Veronica Gentile and Michelle Patton; six great-grandchildren, Nicolas, Nathaniel, Noah, Dean, Maegan and Samantha; former daughter-in-law, LuAnn Patton of Frisco, Texas.
Pat is preceded in death by his wife, Helene Patton.
A Memorial Service will be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Frisco on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Alton Byrd officiating.
