William Coleman Miner

William Coleman Miner died peacefully at his residence in Frisco Texas on January 12, 2013.  He was 87 years old.  Bill was born on March 5, 1925 in Monroe Louisiana to James Franklin Miner and Ola Lilliane Veuleman.  While is was of European decent, after serving his country in World War II, he spent many of his years in Asia, working and owning businesses in both Korea and Vietnam.  In 1964 he met and married An Miner, his wife of 47 years.  At the time Bill and An were married, An had 8 children.  Bill became a father to the children and ultimately was instrumental in helping them escape the war torn country of Vietnam and immigrate to the United States.  Bill is survived by his wife An Luong Miner and children, Suzie Pham, John Miner, Lavana Miner, Tom Miner, Lily Miner, David Miner, Helen Burton, Lan Burden, Jane Pham, Pearl Miner and sister Lavern Fullilove.  He also leaves behind many loving grandchildren and friends.  He will be missed but free from the pain and challenges associated with old age.  

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM (following a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30) on Friday, January 25, 2013 at the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 5095 Coit Road, Frisco, Texas.  

Internment will be at DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas, with services beginning at 1:30 PM.
