William Charles “Cowboy” McClellan, age 71, of McKinney, Texas passed away December 30, 2008. He was born December 20, 1937 in McKinney, Texas to Willie Henry and Minnie Grace (Darland) McClellan. On July 3, 1959 he married Kathleen Sue Cottle in McKinney, Texas. She preceded him in death on July 23, 2002. “Cowboy” was a member of The McClellan Trio Gospel Singers. He retired from Alcatel formerly Rockwell International. “Cowboy” also worked for and retired from Homeco Interiors. He was a member of Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church. He is survived by his daughters, Shannon Kathleen McClellan of McKinney, Texas, Misty Sue McClellan-Keaton and husband, Brandon of Lynn Haven, Florida; granddaughters, Emma Katherine Keaton, Elizabeth Grace Keaton and Madeline Claire Keaton; brothers, Jim McClellan of McKinney, Texas and Hugh McClellan and wife, Nina of McKinney, Texas; sisters, Juanita Marshall and husband, John of McKinney, Texas and Nancy Johnston and husband, Richard of Whitesboro, Texas; brother-in-law, Pat Cottle and wife, Peggy; sister-in-law, Patsy McClellan Caldwell and his close friend, Violet Neighbors and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Grace McClellan; wife, Kathleen McClellan; brother, Billy McClellan; brother and sister-in-law, Leon and Dorothy Mae Pressnell and sister-in-law, Billie Jean McClellan. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, January 2, 2009, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Dennis George officiating. Interment will follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, Texas with Rev. Dalton Froman officiating. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas.
