William Scott (Bill) Mays, age 84 of Frisco, Texas passed away on April 25, 2009 in Frisco. He was born on February 20, 1925 in Summers, Arkansas to Travis and Margaret (Trammell) Mays. Bill was a Cadet Officer in the Merchant Marines. He received a BA from SMU and went on to attain his Masters Degree from North Texas University. He was a High School Math Teacher in the Dallas Independent School District until he retired in 1987 and was passionate about making a difference in the lives of his students. He was honored by his PTA by receiving a life membership award. Bill was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Frisco for 54 years. He was an avid gardener, fisherman and loved to travel. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Lane Mays. Survivors include, daughter, Melinda Perrine and her husband, John of Plano, Texas; son, Dr. W. Scott Mays and his wife, Janis of Celina, Texas; grandchildren, Marti, Micah, Trae and Marshall. Bill is also survived by his loving companion, Liz Walker; brother, Trammell Mays; sister, Margaret Owens and brother, Dallas Mays. The family will receive friends during a Visitation to be held on Monday, April 27, 2009 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Frisco beginning at 6:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church in Frisco with Rev. Bill Meek officiating.
