William "Bill" Roland Laney IV

William “Bill” Roland Laney IV, age 63, of McKinney, Texas passed away February 24, 2008 at his daughter's home in Dallas. He was born June 1, 1944 in Nashville, Tennessee to William Roland Laney III and Vera Pauline Davidson. Bill proudly served in the United States Navy for four years during the Vietnam War as an Avionics Technician aboard both the USS Enterprise and USS Ranger. After his service in the Navy Bill finished his education at the University of North Texas receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree. After college he worked as an accountant in Ft. Worth, before moving to Dallas and going to work for Lincoln Property Company. Bill finished his career with Paragon as Vice President of Multi-Family Development in 2000. Bill enjoyed playing golf and spending as much time as possible with his family, friends and especially his two grandchildren who will always remember him as “Paw Paw Bill”. He is survived by his son, Spencer Laney and wife, Chelsea of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Stacy Laney of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Logan and Catelyn; brother, Bob Laney and wife, Judy of Burleson, Texas; sister, Georgia Christensen and husband, Chris of Westport, Connecticut; along with five nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Thomas Whitfield Laney. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, March 1, 2008, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Harry Long officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Bill’s memory to St. Michaels Hospice, 10214 Inwood Road, Dallas, Texas 75229
