William Joseph Lake, Sr.

Mr. William Joseph Lake, Sr. age 61, of Greenville, Texas passed away on February 24, 2004, in Plano, Texas. He was born on October 3, 1942, in Newark, New Jersey to Richard Anthony and Louise (Hanselman) Lake, Jr. Mr. Lake served in the U.S. Coast Guard and was a salesman for Sears Automotive in the Collin Creek Mall in Plano. He was a member for 25 years and the past Commander of the American Legion Post 76 in Scarborough. He was a member of the Catholic faith. Mr. Lake was survived by his companion, Rose Mary Williams of Greenville; children, William Joseph Lake, Jr. of Auburn, Maine, Frances Ann Lake of Wilton, New Hampshire, Patricia A-J Merritt of Augusta, Maine, Michael Lake of Portland, Maine, Matthew Lake of Gorham, Maine, and Dona McGee of Rowlett, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; brothers, Richard A. Lake, III of Princeton, Texas, Walter Lake of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; and sisters, Christine Salsa of Clermont, Florida, Mary Jane Benning of Belford, New Jersery. He was preceded in death by his parents Richard Anthony and Louise Lake, Jr. and sister, Betty Farney. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, February 27, 2004, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Father Steven Bierschenk officiating. Visitation will be from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, Thursday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
