Mr. William Rayford Kennedy, age 73, of Prosper, Texas passed away July 21, 2007, in Plano, Texas. He was born September 21, 1933, in Collin County, Texas to Fred and Mary Elva (Robbins) Kennedy. On November 23, 1966, he married Juretta Copeland in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Kennedy proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, and was on the U.S.S. Shangri La Aircraft Carrier. He retired as a senior engineer representative for Lone Star Gas after 36 years of service. Following his retirement at Lone Star Gas, he worked for Llano Utilities and Guy Willis Inspection Company. He was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife, Juretta Kennedy; daughter, Christie Hines; son, Paul Kennedy and his wife, Stephanie; and daughter, Jill Kennedy all of Prosper; granddaughters, Taylor Hines and Sarah Kennedy both also of Prosper; sisters, Frances Maas of Los Altos, California, Freddie Simpson of Plano, Texas, Lois Head of Fairview, Texas, Christa Bailey of Carrollton, Texas and Patricia Hay of Princeton, Texas; brothers, Jack Kennedy of Beaumont, Texas, Lonnie Kennedy of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Charlie Kennedy of Burkeburnett, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Geraldine Odle and Birdie Moorehead. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 24, 2007, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel. Interment will follow at Wilson Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation from 7:00-9:00 p.m., Monday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
