William Dee Heath

William Dee Heath, 51, native of Gunter, Texas passed away at 6:15 PM at his residence in Coleman, Texas on July 3, 2012.

William was born March 25, 1961 in El Paso, Texas, the son of Gary Walter and DeLois Ann (Magness) Heath. He graduated from Gunter High School in 1979 then attended Texas A&M University as a member of the Corps of Cadets. He received his degree in Agricultural Economics from Tarleton State University in 1986. In August 1982 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served as a reservist until 1988. In July 1988 he was accepted into the Game Warden Academy and was commissioned as a State of Texas Game Warden on December 22, 1988.

On November 25, 1989, he married Jan Lasseigne in Thibodaux, Louisiana and they settled in Kountze,Texas, his first Game Warden duty station. His primary duty stations during his 23 year career included Hardin, Edwards, Denton and Coleman Counties. Due to illness, he retired from the State of Texas in November 2011.

William is survived by his wife Jan Lasseigne Heath; two children, Nicole Lynne and Gary Alan; father, Gary Walter (Tex) Heath of Gunter; two sisters, Kathleen Lumpkin and husband Bradley of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and Mary Ann Justus of Burnet, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his mother, DeLois Magness Heath and one brother, Gary Wayne Heath.

The family will receive friends at a Visitation to be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Gunter on Friday, July 6, 2012 from 6-8 PM.  Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Gunter.  Interment will follow at Gunter Cemetery.
