William David Hamilton, age 61, of McKinney, Texas, passed away June 13, 2015. David was born November 11, 1953, in St. Charles, Missouri, to Glen E. and Maurine N. (Jones) Hamilton. He married Terry Gail Smith on June 7, 1980. David grew up in Grand Prairie, Texas where he graduated from Grand Prairie High School in 1972. David graduated with a bachelor degree from UTA where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity and also played football for the UTA Mavericks. He started teaching in 1977 in Grand Prairie and most recently was a teacher and coach at McKinney High School retiring in 2012. David loved the mountains and spent the summer of 2012 working in Yellowstone National Park.
He is survived by his wife, Terry Hamilton of McKinney, Texas; sons, Jake Hamilton also of McKinney, Andrew Hamilton of Austin, Texas, and Matthew Hamilton of Amarillo, Texas; mother, Maurine Hamilton of Grand Prairie, Texas; sister, Elaine Harrison and husband, Jim of Farmers Branch, Texas; brother, Eddy Hamilton and wife, Diane of Arlington, Texas; niece, Hannah Hamilton; and a host of other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and son, Joshua Hamilton.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at Rock Creek Ranch, 4934 FM 1461, McKinney, Texas, 75071.
