William (“Bill”) T. Walls, III passed away peacefully at home in Allen, TX on February 15, 2008, following a long, courageous struggle with ALS. Bill was born in Henderson, TX on August 19, 1942 and was preceded in death by his father, William T. Walls II. Bill is survived by his wife Sandra Davis Walls, daughters, Tracy Walls Kopinski and husband, Jason; Melissa Walls Vollmer and husband, Craig and son William (“Billy”) T. Walls IV and wife, Tracey. Bill also will be missed by his eight grandchildren; Josh and wife Briana, Holt, Steele, Courtney, Cole, Katie, Avery and Grant. Bill is also survived by his sister, Mary Sommerville and husband, David and niece Lane; brother-in-law, Dave Davis and wife, Judian and nieces Keesha and Amanda. Bill is also survived by his mother, Francys Ballinger Walls. He also is survived by numerous cousins and aunts and uncles. Following graduation from TCU in 1964, Bill began his career in the insurance industry where he held executive positions with major insurance companies including INA (CIGNA), Houston General, Reliance and One Beacon. Bill retired from the industry in 2002. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the MDA and ALS. Special thanks are extended to his caregivers, Denise and Dell. Funeral services celebrating Bill’s life will be held at 12:00 Noon, Monday, February 18, 2008, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with the Rev. Mr. Cliff Kopinski officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 p.m., Sunday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas.
