William "Bill" Curtis Malone

William Curtis Malone of McKinney, Texas, passed away on December 24, 2015 at the age of 85. He was born August 24, 1930 to Horace C. and Lulu Agnes (Stanley) Malone. Family and friends called him “Dub” for W.C. or Bill, as he got older.   Bill graduated from Prosper High School in 1947 at the age of sixteen. He joined the United States Air Force in 1948 and achieved the rank of Master Sergeant by the young age of twenty-three. Bill then went to Officers Candidate School where he earned a commission and served as a missile launch officer in Korea from 1959-1960.  His jobs in the Air Force also included: Jet mechanic, Crew chief, Accident Investigation Officer and Personnel Officer. Bill’s military career spanned the Korean and Vietnam eras when he retired as a Major in 1968. During his Air Force career, he earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Colorado. Bill worked in the oil and gas industry, and the real estate industry until he retired to live on the farm. Dub rode a Shetland pony to school as a child and loved animals. He was always adopting cats, dogs, horses, donkeys, and any stray that needed a home. Bill had a great sense of humor that he passed along to his children.

Bill is survived by his brothers, Rex and wife Marita of McKinney, Wallace and wife Betty of McKinney;  former wife, Margarette of Del City, OK; children, Beth Garrison of McKinney, Mike and wife Judy of Oklahoma City, Alan and Bertie of Dallas; grandchildren, Roman and wife Leslie of Dallas, Michelle of Oklahoma City, Jeana and husband Bobby of Oklahoma City; great-grandchildren, Reese, Ramsey, Falon, and Brynn; as well as many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Kate Dowell.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Tuesday evening, December 29, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
