Wheeler Ray Marksberry II of Blue Ridge, Texas passed away at his home the night of July 20, 2014. Ray was born February 14, 1956 in Dallas, Texas to Wheeler and Virginia Crouss Marksberry. On December 2, 1978 he married Peggy Cummings in Dallas, Texas. Ray worked as a patrol officer for the McKinney Police Department and later on was an aerial photographer. He is survived his wife Peggy of Blue Ridge, daughters Cynthia Rae Marksberry Maloney of Providence, Texas and Crista Marie Marksberry of Blue Ridge. Other survivors include grandchildren Tressie Carol and Peyton John Maloney of Providence, Tyler Ray Lyons of Blue Ridge, brothers Carl Marksberry and wife Lou of Oklahoma, John and Floyd Smith of McKinney, and Phyllis Hiles of Sherman. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Step-son Christopher Long and grandchild Eric Maloney. Visitation will be from 5-7 Friday July 25, 2014 at the Hurst Fielder-Baker Funeral Home in Farmersville. Services will be held at the Bethlehem Baptist Church Saturday July 26 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. David Meeks officiating. Burial will follow at the Bethlehem Cemetery.
