Wesley Eugene “Gene” Decker, of Allen, Texas, passed away on March 27, 2013 at the age of 74. He was born on October 13, 1938, in Whitewright, Texas, to James Wesley and Lillie (Washington Davis) Decker. He was raised in Allen and McKinney, Texas and was a graduate of McKinney High School in 1957. On September 14, 1956, Gene married his high school sweetheart, Iris Nell Edwards, in McKinney; they shared a wonderful life for 56 years. He owned Decker Homes and was a member of the Plano Chamber of Commerce and the Home Builders Association.
He is survived by his wife, Iris Decker of Allen; children, Nelda Magnuson and husband George of Allen, Chris Decker and wife Donna of McKinney; grandchildren, Ryan, Caitlin and Dylan Magnuson; sister, Martha Ellsworth of McKinney; sister-in-law, Judy Jordan of Garland, Texas; brother-in-law, Rusty Edwards of McKinney; mother-in-law, Edith Edwards of McKinney; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
Gene is preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Lillie Decker; brother, Bobby Decker; sisters, Faye Taylor, Dorothy Johnson and Mary Wilbanks.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., on Friday evening at the funeral home.
