Wendell Lloyd Withrow

Wendell Lloyd Withrow of Dallas, Texas passed on June 3, 2008. He was born in Trenton, Texas on May 22, 1926 to Lloyd and Susie Withrow. Wendell graduated from Trenton High School in 1943. He proudly served his country in World War II with the Army 77th division, stationed in Okinawa. He was wounded on May 12, 1945 and received the honor of Purple Heart. He married Betty Lou Key in Trenton, Texas in 1946. They moved to Dallas and raised their family of two children. Wendell and Betty are members of Lake Highlands Baptist Church. Wendell had a long career of 38 years as an inspector for Texas Instruments and retired in 1989. Wendell is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Withrow; daughter, Carol Withrow of Florida, son Steve Withrow & wife Maritza of Allen, grandchildren Lesley Rolandt & husband Mike of Savannah, TX, and Kristy Junco of Houston. Other survivors include his brother Don Withrow & wife Billie of Savoy, TX and brother Larry Withrow & wife Pat of Blue Ridge, TX. Wendell’s family and friends will miss the compassion and love that he brought into their lives. Wendell had a great sense of humor, quick wit and was a wonderful friend and father. “For he will give his angels charge of you, to guard you all your ways”. Psalms 91.11 Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 6, 2008 at 2:00pm at Earnheart Chapel, 201 W. Maple St., Whitewright, Texas. Officiating the service will be Rev. Houston Garner. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:00pm until service time. Burial will follow at Burns Cemetery in Trenton, Texas. Pallbearers will be Steve Withrow, Don Withrow, Larry Withrow, Kyle Withrow, Dean Withrow, Mike Rolandt.
