Warren George Bruns

Warren George Bruns, 95, of McKinney, Texas, died on Thursday, July 13, 2017. Warren was born to the late George and Bertha Bruns on July 28, 1921, in Dittmer, Missouri. Warren grew up in Dittmer with his sisters and brothers, Hulda Kramme, Ella Meyer, Herb Bruns, and Edgar Bruns. He then served in the U.S. Army as Master Sergeant from September 1942 to January 1946. Warren served in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre during World War II. He returned to Missouri to meet the love of his life, Peggy H. Richter. They married and enjoyed life together for 54 years of marriage. Warren enjoyed a long successful career in machinery sales with Pratt and Whitney Machine Tools, and with Machinery Sales in Los Angeles, California. Warren and Peggy enjoyed many years of golfing, boating, and traveling to experience many different parts of the world together.

Peggy predeceased Warren in March, 2004. Warren and Peggy had a wonderful daughter, Linda Griffice, who predeceased them in 2003 and is now in heaven.

They are survived by their son Wayne Bruns of McKinney, Texas, and Wayne’s loving wife Rosie. Warren is also survived by his grandchildren, Daniel Bruns (Mindy), Melody Bruns, Chuck Griffice (Vicki), Jason Griffice (Malia), Andrew Griffice (Jami), and many loving great-grandchildren. Warren will also be missed by many cousins, nieces and nephews currently living in various locations around the country.

A graveside service will be conducted for family members on July 27 at 12 Noon at El Toro Cemetery, in El Toro, California.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to “No Kid Hungry”, 1030 15th St., NW, Suite 1100 W, Washington, D.C., 20005.
