Wanda Lee (Press) Turner

Mrs. Wanda Lee (Press) Turner, age 81, of Frisco, Texas passed away October 10, 2009. She was born on January 24, 1928, in Blue Ridge, Texas to Thomas Earl and Oda Odell (Ingram) Press. On April 27, 1945, she married J.R. Turner in Durant, Oklahoma. Mrs. Turner was a member of the First Baptist Church in Floydada, Texas for over 35 years and of the First Baptist Church in Aiken, Texas for 18 years. She was very active in Sunday School for the last 40 years and was on the Kitchen Committee at Floydada First Baptist Church. Mrs. Turner is survived by her husband of 64 years, J.R. Turner; daughters, Carol Smith of Duluth, Georgia, Kay Roach and husband, Jerry of McKinney, Texas, and Carmen Moran and husband, Scott of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Renee Himmelbaum and husband, Darren of Duluth, Georgia, Turner Roach of New York, New York, Stacy Frazier and husband, Tim of Sterling, Colorado, Sean Moran of Frisco, Texas and Amanda Moran of Plano, Texas; great grandchildren, Samantha, Sydney, Sadie and Andrew; and sister, Tommie Pevey of Whitehouse, Texas. Her parents preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 17, 2009, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Howell E. Farnsworth officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Cemetery in Blue Ridge, Texas. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
