Walter Wayne Cody, 76, of Farmersville, Texas, passed away on April 21, 2017 in McKinney, Texas.  He was born August 10, 1940 in Farmerville, Texas to Paul and Edith Cheek Cody.  He married Barbara Hinton on July 17, 1959 in Farmersville.  He was employed by the U. S. Postal Service and also worked at Hinton Home doing their maintance.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Farmersville and served as a deacon, also taught High School Sunday School.  He served on Mission Trips for the church.  He also served in the U. S. Army from April 16, 1963 to April 2, 1965.

Wayne is survived by; wife, Barbara Cody of Farmersville, Texas; daughter, Kristi Woodruff and husband Paul of Farmersville, Texas; grandson, Hunter Woodruff of Farmersville, Texas; brother, Kenneth Cody of Rapid City, South Dakota. 

He was preceded in death by; parents Paul and Edith Cody, four brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be on Sunday, April 23, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hurst’s Fielder Baker Funeral Home, 107 N. Washington Street, Farmersville, Texas. 

Funeral services will be on Monday, April 24, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Farmersville, Texas. Rev. Bart Barber and Rev.Tracy O’dneal will officiate.  Interment will follow in I. O. O. F. Cemetery in Farmersville.
