Walter Lee Walden, age 97, passed away peacefully at his home on First Street in McKinney on January 4, 2007. He was born March 24, 1909 in Melissa, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Thelma Terisa Walden; daughter Terisa Lea Duncan and her husband George of Prosper; one granddaughter Vickie Lea James and her husband Vern of Prosper; two great-grandsons, Nathan Wesley James and Justin Taylor James, both of Prosper. Walter was active in Waddill Street Baptist Church, serving as a deacon until his health began to fail. He still loved his church and church friends until his death. He is now at peace with his Lord. He was preceded in death by one grandson; six sisters; and his parents. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 7, 2007 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Hubert Long and Rev. Woody Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Saturday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
