Mr. Walter Dwayne Murphy, 87, of Princeton, Texas passed away Saturday, February 8, 2014 in McKinney, Texas.  He was born September 9, 1926 in Princeton to Walter J. and Melba (Osborne) Murphy.  Mr. Murphy was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Army.  On November 6, 1944 he married Ruby Ruth Alexander in McKinney.  He is a member of the Altoga Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Mr. Murphy worked for Lone Star Gas for over twenty years.

Mr. Murphy is survived by his daughter, Brenda Adams and husband Garry of Princeton; grandchildren, Tina Chandler of Princeton, Ernie Adams and his wife DeAngela of Frisco, Texas; great-grandchildren, Brian Redding of Waxahachie, Texas and Hannah Kay Adams of Frisco; great-great-granddaughter, Harley Cathleen Redding; brother, Willard Murphy and his wife Jeanette of Farmersville, Texas and sister, Betty Davis of Princeton.

He was preceded in death by his wife; brothers, Harold Murphy, Peasy Murphy, Cecil Murphy and Dennis Murphy; and his sister, Martha Hamm.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, at 10:00 a.m., February 12, 2014 at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive guests at a visitation Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
