Walter Douglas Miller

Walter Douglas Miller passed away August 19th, 2014 in McKinney, TX. Walt was born August 12, 1942 in Burlington, WA to Paul and Wilma Miller.

He graduated from Burlington-Edison high school in 1960 and married Mary Jean Hudson in 1964. He attended college at both Western Washington University and Skagit Valley Community College. He began working for Weyerhaeuser in 1967 where he spent his entire career. During retirement, he owned and operated Mt. Si Alpacas in Snoqualmie WA, where he raised and sold several award winning alpacas. He spent free time on his favorite past-times fly-fishing and writing. He briefly lived in Richland, WA and Plano, TX before moving back to the Skagit Valley.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Jim Davidson of McKinney, TX; His son and daughter-in-law, Keith D. Miller and Colette Miller-DePhelps of Moscow, ID; His sister and brother-in-law Donna and Bryce Cook of Mt. Vernon, WA; his grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Davidson, his step-grandchildren Forest and Raven DePhelps; His nephew Mark Cook and niece Christy Granard, numerous cousins and other extended family members, and his beloved dog Buster.

He was preceded in Death by his parents Paul and Wilma.
