Walter John Hein, Jr.

Walter John Hein, Jr., age 53, of Allen, Texas, passed away December 3, 2012, in Allen.  Walter was born September 6, 1959, in Elmont, New York, to Walter John and Dorothea (Cummings) Hein, Sr.  He was a Long Island All American High School Lacrosse player for Elmont High. He went on to play at North Carolina State as a team captain.  Walter was a member of the Tampa Florida and Dallas Lacrosse Club in the 1980’s and 1990’s and played as a midfielder. His fade away shot was a Hein signature move. He also acted as a coach and mentor for the Allen Leopard’s Lacrosse Club as well as the McKinney Lacrosse Club. Both his sons are members of the Mckinney Lacrosse Club.  Walter worked as a sales manager in the hosiery industry for over 25 years. 

He is survived by his sons, Chris Hein and Brayden Hein, both of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Brooklynn Hein also of McKinney; father, Walter Hein, Sr. of Elmont, New York; brothers, Greg Hein and wife, Adeline of Massapequa, New York and Chris Hein and wife, Joie Marie of Muttontown, New York; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothea Hein.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, December 6, 2012, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas.
