Walter Aubrey Gibson Jr. passed away on February 13, 2010 after battling pancreatic cancer for more than one and a half years. Walter was born on August 13, 1953 in New Orleans, LA. He spent his youth in Louisiana, Texas and Michigan. Walter attended Ferris State College and then graduated from Michigan State University in 1977. He worked for over 20 years at Ford Motor Company and the Volvo Auto Group in operations and finance. Throughout his career with Ford/Volvo, he lived in Texas, North Carolina, New York and then back to Texas. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Aubrey Gibson and his grandparents Joseph Andrew and Annie Marie Gibson, Herbert Eugene Gardner and Catherine Tujague Gardner. He is survived by his children, Catherine Ann, Laura Loraine and Walter Thomas as well as a brother, Lee (Maria); his mother Mary Lee and his loyal dog, Chase. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2010, at 12:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
