W. T. (Travis) Smith, age 68, of Princeton, Texas, passed away December 15, 2011. He was born January 24, 1943, in Farmersville, Texas, to William “Bear” Chester and Sylvia (Swindel) Smith. On May 7, 1966, Travis married Jayne Anne Jackson in McKinney, Texas. He was a former Jaycee in McKinney, Director of McKinney Little League Boys Baseball, and a member of the National Rifle Association; he was also an avid deer hunter. He is survived by his wife, Jayne Anne Smith of Princeton; sons, Travis Christopher Smith of Wolfe City, Texas, William Gregory Smith and wife Cherra of McKinney; grandchildren, Allie Grace Smith, Jackson Lee Smith, Cassidy Nicole Smith, Olivia Noel Smith, and Jordan Burkey; mother, Sylvia Smith of Princeton; brothers, Gary D. Smith and wife Tanya of Van Alstyne, Texas, and Jerry Smith and wife Diane of Leonard, Texas. Travis is preceded in death by his father, and brother, Mark Wayne Smith. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 18, 2011, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation Saturday evening, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
