Mr. W. H. “Dick” Self, age 89, of Sulphur Springs, Texas passed away January 5, 2007, in Sulphur Springs. He was born March 26, 1917, in McKinney, Texas to Felix and Hattie (Love) Self. On January 18, 1942 he married Audrey Maritha Hatfield in McKinney, Texas. Mr. Self was an aircraft machinist and of the protestant faith. He is survived his son, Richard Self and his wife Connie of Rockwall, Texas; daughter, Shirley Self Jones and husband Chris of Sulphur Springs, Texas; grandchildren Brent, Kenny and Lisa; and great grandchildren Taylor, Brandon, Valerie, Ryan and Nathan; sisters, Louise Barrow of Blue Ridge, Texas, Beatrice Brewer of Wiley, Texas and Irene Mack of Pottsboro, Texas; brothers, Bill Self of McKinney, Texas, Alton Self of Garland, Texas and Sam Self of Wiley, Texas. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 8, 2007, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Danny Buster officiating. Interment will follow at Wilson Chapel Cemetery, Lowry Crossing, Texas. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Sunday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
