Vivian Doris McBride was born to Dottie Issebella Cook and Isaac Burl Cook in Grayson County on August 28, 1932. She later married J.D. McBride on September 24, 1949 in McKinney, Texas. She was a member of Graywood Heights Church in Van Alstyne, Texas. She passed away on November 24, 2011 at the age of 79 in the company of her children in her home. She is preceded in death by both parents; four brothers; son, Jimmy Doyle McBride; and her beloved husband of almost 50 years, J.D. McBride. Vivian worked for Haggar Slacks in McKinney for over 30 years and then worked for Inte Com in Plano for 10 years. Anyone who knew Vivian could tell you what a loving and kind person she was. Always have a smile on her face, a twinkle in her blue eyes and a kind word for everyone she met. She will be sorely missed by many. She leaves behind one daughter, Charlotte Striplin and husband, David of McKinney, Texas; sons, Gerald McBride and wife, Glenda of Duncan, Oklahoma and Rick McBride and wife, Carla of Silo, Oklahoma; brothers, Ray Cook of Carval, Colorado, Harold Cook of Sherman, Texas, Don Cook of Telephone, Texas and Kenneth Cook of Lake Jackson, Texas; sisters, Lou Brush of Van Alstyne, Texas, Shirley Bratcher of McRae, Arkansas and Nancy Somers of Anna, Texas; nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 26, 2011, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Pastor Jason Conners officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas.
