Virginia "Jenny" H. Slaight

Virginia “Jenny” H. Slaight, age 81, of Plano, Texas, passed away June 3, 2007, at her home. She was born on November 13, 1925, in Plano, Texas, to Emmitt and Bertha (Daffron) Haggard. On October 7, 1950, she married C.H. “Hank” Slaight, Jr., in Plano Texas. Mrs. Slaight and her husband Hank worked many years, side by side, in insurance claims. Mrs. Slaight was very active in her churches, first as an organist at First Christian Church in Plano, and then as a piano player at First Christian Church in McKinney Sunday School Class. She also played for the residents at Cottonwood Estates Assisted Living Center. She is survived by her granddaughter, Christina Slaight Gill and her husband Harvey Gill of Plano; grandson, Mark F. Slaight of Richardson, Texas; great-grandchildren, Erica Wolfe and Brandon Gill; sister, JoAnne Haggard of Plano; and many nieces, nephews and other loving relatives. Preceding her in death were her husband, C.H. “Hank” Slaight, Jr. on October 25, 2003; sons, Michael J. Slaight and Mark H. Slaight; three brothers; and two sisters. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM, Friday, June 8, 2007, at Plano Mutual Cemetery with Rev. Neal Grimes officiating. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday, June 8, 2007, from 9:30 to 11:00 AM, prior to the graveside service, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
