Viola Melinda Engle Lyons was born June 28, 1941 in Kevy, Kentucky to Louie Engle and Cora Cornett Engle. She married Frelon Bartley, Sr. on June 16, 1958. She died Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman, Texas at the age of 74. She was a resident of Whitewright, Texas.
Viola was a long time employee of the Las Vegas Hilton, Las Vegas, Nevada. After retiring she moved to Whitewright to be near her daughter and grandchildren. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Whitewright. She was also a member of the Sherman Elks Lodge and Red Hat Ladies. She loved her family. She was loved and will be missed.
She is survived by daughter, Viola Bartley of Whitewright; sons, Frelon Bartley, Jr. of Okemos, Michigan and John Bartley of San Diego, California; grandchildren, Trina Sides, Abigail Bartley, and Kasondra Page; great-grandchildren, Adrian, Michael, and Alexus Gonzalez, Nathan Jennings, and Noah Page; brothers, Earl, Carl, James, Lee Roy, Paul and David Engle; sister, Peggy Smith; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Doris Fields; and grandson, Jason Sides.
Memorial Services will be held 11:00AM, Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at First Baptist Church, Whitewright, Texas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Dave Bradley.
