Mrs. Vida Murphy, age 98, of McKinney, Texas passed away on January 2, 2005 in McKinney. She was born on October 2, 1906, in Groesbeck, Texas to Andrew and Melissa (Monk) Sadler. She married Carl Murphy in 1924 in Altoga, Texas. Mrs. Murphy was a long time owner of Murphy’s Food Center. She was of the Church of Christ faith. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Odle of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Patricia Church of California and Elaine Crockett of McKinney, Texas; great grandchildren, Bill Todd Tallant of California, Paul Wade Tallant of Grand Saline, Texas, Richard Grant Tallant of California, Emily Crockett of Bedford, Texas and Alicia Phillips of Prosper, Texas; and 6 great great grandchildren. Mrs. Murphy was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and 7 brothers and sisters. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, January 5, 2005, at Ridgeview Memorial Park with Rev. Kenneth Odle officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
