Vanita Lee Bowers-Bates

Vanita Lee Bowers-Bates, 68, of Blue Ridge, Tx., went to heaven on Tuesday, December 16th 2014 from complications of COPD. She was born in McKinney, TX. on November 13, 1946.   She graduated from Grand Prairie High School in 1965.

She retired from LTV in Grand Prairie. She started her next adventure working for the Government, which included Immigration and the Secret Service. She received many accolades, the most notable one being a handwritten note from LadyBird Johnson, which she was very proud of. She was often very outspoken and wrote letters to the editors of the Dallas newspapers. Vanita loved to write! She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her Mother, Thresa Bowers Braswell and Father Johnnye Bowers and his wife Gail Bowers, all of Blue Ridge, Tx. Brother, Bill Bowers and his wife Patsy Bowers of Rowlett, Tx. Children: Kevin Cambron and his wife Prisna Virasin of Dallas, Tx., Shelley Cambron of Grand Prairie, Tx. and son Aaron LeFebre of Blue Ridge, Tx. Grandchildren: Jeremy Holtman of Houston, Tx. Chloe Cambron and Vivien Cambron of Dallas,Tx.  

She was married to Randall Bates, and survived by her loving Mother-in-Law Lynda Phillips, along with many beloved brother and sister-in-laws. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 Friday December 19, 2014 at the Hurst Fielder-Baker Funeral Home in Farmersville. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Hurst Fielder-Baker Chapel.
