Valentine "VT" Hatfield

Valentine (VT) Hatfield went to be with the Lord on February 9, 2007 at 3:02PM. He was admitted to Centennial Hospital in Frisco, Texas on Monday, February 5th for breathing complications. He remained there surrounded by family and friends until the end. VT was born on August 5, 1930 in McCarr, Kentucky, but grew up in Matewan, West Virginia. His parents were Valentine Sr. and Ethel Hatfield. Before retiring in 1989, VT was the owner of two Ford Auto Dealerships in Williamson an Matewan, West Virginia. Recently he moved to Plano, Texas with his wife to be closer to his children and grandchildren. VT is survived by his wife Gloria “Bug”; sons, Jay and his wife Kristy, Jon and his wife Sherri; grandchildren, Jayson, Hunter, Katie, Jack. Funeral Service will be held at Grace Community Church on Monday, February 12, 2007 at 6:00 PM in Plano, Texas, with visitation one hour prior to service. An additional Funeral Service will be held at Chambers Funeral Home on Thursday, February 15, 2007 at 2:00 PM in Matewan, West Virginia. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday evening beginning at 6:00 PM. Interment will follow at Mt. View Memory Gardens in Belfry, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers the family is requestin donations be made in VT’s name to Grace Community Church in Plano, Texas or Matewan United Methodist Church in Matewan, West Virginia.
