Vada Irene Voyles, of Allen, Texas, celebrated her 104th birthday with family and friends last Thursday. She passed away the following afternoon, on June 13, 2014. She was born June 12, 1910 in Quinlan, Texas to Thomas James and Ellen Bell (Bradley) Freeman. On December 18, 1930, Vada married Jewel Silman Voyles in Hugo, Oklahoma. She worked for Haggar as a seamstress and retired from Sanger-Harris.
She is survived by her son, Jim Voyles and his partner (her adopted son) Sam Axson of Allen, Texas; daughter, Jewell Smith and husband Larry of Farmers Branch, Texas; grandsons, Damon Smith and wife Melissa of Carrollton, Texas and Kevin Smith of Farmers Branch, Texas; and great-grandchildren, Tyler Smith, Allison Smith and Austin Smith all of Carrollton, Texas.
Vada is preceded in death by her parents, husband and son, Robert Voyles.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, June 16, 2014 at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas.
