Truett Braswell

Truett “Daddy B” Braswell, age 94, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2007, in Allen, Texas. He was born August 25, 1913, in McKinney, Texas, to L. R. and Mattie (Hitchcock) Braswell. He and his wife, Fannye Lee Hart, were married in Greenville, Texas, October 15, 1938. They shared their lives for fifty-four years. Together they had two children, Donna Kay Braswell Miteff, now deceased, and GaryTruett Braswell, of Plano, Texas. Truett was always proud to be born and raised in McKinney, where he worked as a salesman for Lavender Wholesale Grocery Distributor. Later, he sold cotton gins in central Texas for Hardwicke-Etter. Upon retirement, he and Fannye Lee lived in Mesquite, Texas, where they were members of Casa View Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, Fannye Lee; sister, Alyne Watts; daughter, Donna Kay; and one granddaughter, Kimberly Miteff Vinebel. He is survived and loved by his son, Gary and his wife, Freida; his grandchildren, Lance and Daphne Braswell of Garland, Stephanie and Teddy Kirby of Frisco, Kelly Miteff Ferree, Terry Ferree both of Austin, Texas, and Chris Miteff of San Antonio. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; Emma Braswell, Bailey, Tucker, and T.J. Kirby, Breanna and Taylor Ferree, and Ryan Vinebel; and two nephews, Truitt and Jeff Watts. Truett was always known as a good and kind man. He will be missed by his family and his many friends at Victoria Gardens in Allen, Texas. The family is thankful for and celebrates Daddy B’s life.
