Troy Lee McCarley

Troy Lee McCarley of Paradise, Texas passed away October 6, 2015 at the age of 90. He was born August 2, 1925, to John McCarley and Nettie (Hollis) McCarley in Collin County, Texas. Troy married Delia Faye McCarley on August 11, 1945, in Sherman, Texas. He retired from General Motors in Arlington, Texas after thirty-three years in the materials department. Troy enjoyed farming and ranching. He was the founder of Texas Westerneers Riding Club and the National Association of Riding Clubs and Sheriff’s Posses and belonged to the Cockrell Hill Riding Club. He created the “Six Flags over Texas Drill” which won many awards.

Troy is survived by his son, Ronnie McCarley and wife Susie of Runaway Bay, Texas; daughters, Pam Walsh and husband H.L. of Paradise, Texas and Kim Redfearn of Decatur, Texas; grandchildren, Jimmy McCarley and wife Kathy of Azle, Texas, Buffy Strange and husband Casey of Azle, Texas and Ryan Meals and wife Jennifer of Paradise, Texas; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Woodley McCarley of Blue Ridge, Texas, Lloyd Wayne McCarley and wife Arlene of Kansas, and Rickey McCarley of Decatur, Texas; sisters, Helen Sue Morrison of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, Carol Short of Blue Ridge, Texas, Freida Welborn of Mt. Pleasant, and Charlotte Trimble of Plano, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Delia Faye McCarley and brother, J.R. McCarley.

A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 9, 2015 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment is to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive guests during a visitation one hour prior to the service.
