Tommy Lee Potter, age 76 of McKinney, Texas passed away April 1, 2015 in Murphy, Texas. He was born in 1939 in McKinney, Texas to LeRoy Wesley and Lucille Frances (Morris) Potter. Tommy grew up in McKinney where he attended South Ward and McKinney High School where he was a star athlete in football. Tommy married Pauline Bridges May 3, 1957 in Durant, Oklahoma. He enjoyed farming and ranching in his early years. Tommy owned and operated Potter’s Grocery Store in McKinney for over thirty years and was a prominent real estate investor.
He is survived by his two sons, Ronald Lee Potter of McKinney, Texas and Thomas Wesley Potter and wife Stephanie of Allen, Texas; grandchildren, Jennifer Standard of Frisco, Texas and Christina Murphy of Deport, Texas; aunt, Mary Ann Bown of St. Augustine, Texas; sisters, Pat Davidson of Anna, Texas and Debbie Medley of Nashville, Tennessee; along with a host of other loving family and friends.
Tommy was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline and his parents, LeRoy and Lucille Potter.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, Texas. The family will receive friends during a vistation being held Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
