Tommy Henderson was born May 14, 1937 in Boswell, Oklahoma to Charley Henderson and Hulda Babe Stackhouse-Henderson. He married Amanda Laura Page on August 6, 1955 in Whitewright, Texas. He died Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at Texas Health Presbyterian WNJ in Sherman, Texas at the age of 73. Tommy was a member of the Baptist faith, affiliated with the Elks Lodge and was a dedicated husband, father, grand-father and friend to many people. He loved visiting with his friends and family around town and would always lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He is survived by wife, Amanda Henderson of Whitewright; son, Dwayne Henderson and wife Connie of Whitewright; daughter, Wanda Pierce and husband Randy of Whitewright; daughter, Liz Henderson of Whitewright; daughter, Tammy Henderson and husband Chris McCullough of Melissa; grandchildren, Shelly Taylor, Danny Henderson, Rendi Pierce, Gary Allison, Jonathon Rios, Bailey Henderson, Blake Henderson, Carlie Henderson, Jerry Henderson, Larry Henderson, Crystal Parker, Tommy Henderson, Sarah Henderson, Caroline Henderson, Jacob Westbrook, Amanda Mangrum, Cheyenne McCullough, and Justin McCullough; great-grandchildren, Laura Taylor, Neal Taylor, Lyndsay Henderson, Nolan Henderson, Zack Daneau, Trey Henderson, Conner Henderson, Kinsey Henderson, Colt Parker, Ryan Lee Parker, Shelby Henderson, and Thomas Henderson; brothers, Bob Henderson of Houston; Fred Henderson of Sherman; Frank Henderson of Charlston, Arkansas; Bill Henderson of Benton, Arkansas; Donnie Henderson of Whitewright; Marion Henderson of Houston; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends; and his beloved pet, Ringo Star. Preceded in death by his parents; son, Danny Henderson; brothers, James, Burt and Charles. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 5, 2011 at First Baptist Church, Whitewright, Texas. Officiating the service will be Rev. Leon Veazey, Rev. John Brock, and Rev. Willie Ballard. Burial will follow at City Cemetery in Whitewright, Texas. Pallbearers will be Danny Henderson, Tommy Lee Henderson, Jerry Henderson, Larry Henderson, Gary Allison, Jonathon Rios, Randy Pierce and Chris McCullough. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Friday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday, March 4, 2011 from 6-8pm at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Whitewright, Texas.
