Tommie Joe Mills

Tommie Joe Mills, of Frisco, Texas passed away October 4, 2012 at the age of 79.  He was born on June 3, 1933, to Jimmy and Helen (Spain) Mills.   He was a graduate of the University of Texas where he received his BS and JD degrees. After graduation he began his legal career as an attorney in Abilene, Texas. He then moved in 1965 to Snyder, Texas where he began his 35 years of private practice. During his career in Snyder he was elected District Attorney for Scurry County and eventually was hired by the city of Snyder as Municipal Judge. While Judge he also became active and served as president of the Texas Municipal Judges Association. In Snyder Tommie was active on several boards and organizations including being a Mason. Prior to receiving his law degree Tommie was a pilot in the United States Air Force. During his service he flew cargo missions during the Korean War. In Tommie's spare time he enjoyed flying, golfing and raising cattle. After retirement Tommie moved to Plano, Texas to be closer to his son and granddaughters.

He is survived by his son, Jim Mills and wife Monica of Frisco, Texas; granddaughters, Ashlyn and Emily Mills; niece, Lyn Aldrich; and nephew, Brad Hart. As well as long time friends Robert and Annel White.

Tommie is preceded in death by, his parents, Jimmy and Helen Mills and sister, Helen Jean Hart.

A memorial and inurnment service will be held at a later date in Brownwood, Texas.
