Thresa Ann Granger, age 83, of Richardson, Texas, passed away September 3, 2014, in Richardson. Thresa was born September 7, 1930, in Vernon, Texas, to Raymond Lestel and Mattie Aline (Whisenant) Smith. She married Earl Deward Granger on July 23, 1947 in McKinney, Texas. She was a past member of First Baptist Church of Allen. Thresa was a faithful patron of the Wylie Opera. She enjoyed square dancing, loved traveling, including trips to Alaska. Thresa cherished her family and friends.
She is survived by her sons, Terry Granger and wife, Margaret of Plano, Texas and Leon Granger of Grand Prairie, Texas; grandchildren, Karen Schrah of Plano, Texas, Julie Terrell and husband, Jaramie of Wylie, Texas, Kimberlee Jones and husband, D. J. of Addison, Texas, Christin Granger of Plano, Texas, Bryan Granger and wife, Amanda of Grand Prairie, Texas, Clint Granger of Plano, Texas, Stephanie Granger and Travis Granger, both of Florida; great-grandchildren, Sarah Schrah, Jade Terrell, Austin Weeks, Landon Weeks, Kallie Terrell, Camille Jones, Riley Granger, and Taylor Granger; great-great-grandson, Grayson Sherrill; and sisters and brothers, Lucille Hale of Dallas, Texas, Gerald Porter of Missouri, Ruth Hulon of Florida, Rita Jo Baxter of Richardson, Texas, and Dwight Smith of Grand Saline, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Deward Granger, sons, Garry Granger and Steve Granger, great-grandson, Zachary Schrah, and sisters and brothers, Raymond “Bud” Smith, Jeannine Cox, Ray Smith, Sara Smith, and David Smith.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 6, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., Friday evening at the funeral home.
