Thomas Ray Walker, age 55, of Allen, Texas passed away after a valiant fight with cancer on October 7, 2012. He was born January 1, 1957 in Commerce, Texas to James Deward Walker and Euple Blackburn Walker. On January 3, 1981 he married Michelle Ballew in Commerce. Tom grew up in Commerce where he graduated from high school in 1975. He graduated from East Texas State University, now Texas A&M University-Commerce in 1979 with a bachelor degree in computer science. Tom worked for Hewlett-Packard since 1990 most recently as a project manager. He enjoyed reading and was an avid golfer with a handicap of 10. Tom loved watching sports. He was very involved and active with all of his children’s activities as they were growing up. Tom was a member of Suncreek United Methodist Church in Allen.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle Ballew Walker of Allen, Texas; children, Drew Walker, Mattie Walker and Ben Walker; mother, Euple Walker of Commerce, Texas; sisters, Carole Walker of Commerce, Texas, Margaret White and husband, Dick of Dallas, Texas, Mary Stokic and husband, Mike of North Richland Hills, Texas; brothers, James Lynn Walker and wife, Patti of Pflugerville, Texas, Bob Walker and wife, Dianne of Dallas, Texas, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, J.D. Walker.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, October 11, 2012, at Suncreek United Methodist Church, 1517 West McDermott Drive, Allen, Texas 75013, with Rev. Tom Palmer and Rev. Holly Gotelli officiating.
