Thomas Darrell Loyd, age 75, passed away peacefully at home on July 13, 2013. He was born in Mineola, Texas on June 28, 1938 to parents Lee and Clara Mae (Clinton) Loyd. Thomas served in the United States Army and later transferred to the United States Navy. He married Molly Grady on June 6, 1959 in Tyler, Texas. Thomas was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad for thirty-three years in Dallas and Omaha, Nebraska. He was later employed by Sid Richardson Carbon in Fort Worth for fourteen years. After retiring, he and Molly followed their dream and moved to New Orleans. Hurricane Katrina forced them out of Louisiana and they relocated to McKinney, Texas. Thomas enjoyed collecting dye cast model cars, model railroading, classic movies, and music.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Molly Grady Loyd; sons, Lonnie, Tommy and wife Tracey, and Timothy; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held.
