Thomas Edward Grant, age 82, of Plano, Texas passed away December 14, 2008. He was born December 24, 1925 in Paris, Texas to Charles and Grace (Rushing) Grant. On July 17, 1949 he married Jimmie Louise Vaughan Grant in Paris, Texas. Tom proudly served in the United States Navy from 1943-1946. He was a member of the Volunteers in Plano and the Emeritis Member of the Senior Center Council of Plano. He is survived by his children, Kathy Jo Williams and husband, Greg of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Mike Grant and wife, Kathleen of Houston, Texas; grandson Aaron Grant of Houston, Texas; step-grandchildren, Grant Williams and wife, Elaine and Jason Williams both of Bowling Green Kentucky; sister-in-law, Millicent Grant of Denver, Colorado and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church, Plano, Texas. Interment will be held at 3:00 p.m., at Evergreen Cemetery, Paris, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Tuesday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Morphis Sunday School Class or to The American Heart Association.
