Thomas G. (Tom) Gerron, age 74, of McKinney, Texas, died peacefully in his home on November 20, 2013. Tom was born August 1, 1939, in Odessa, Texas, to Orion Elwin and Margaret Lucille (Carney) Gerron. He married Jo Ann Hokanson on March 26, 1966, in Dallas, Texas.
Tom graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1961 with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting. After two years in the Navy, he joined Coopers & Lybrand in Dallas. Tom became a Certified Public Accountant in 1965. From 1970 through 2003, Tom worked with venture capital and private equity firms in Dallas that invested in minority-owned businesses.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Gerron of McKinney, Texas; sons, Daniel Thomas Gerron and wife, Elizabeth, of North Andover, Massachusetts, and Timothy James Gerron and wife, Yuk King, of Austin, Texas; grandchildren Matthew Mazzella and Abigail Gerron of North Andover, Massachusetts; brother Jim Gerron and wife, Pat, of Midland, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, December 19, 2013, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas.
