Funeral Services for Theresa “Teri” Lavadda Melton Hass, 54 year old Van resident, are scheduled for 4 P.M. Saturday April 21st at the New Life Refuge Church/Grove Hill Methodist Church located at 5471 FM 1553 north of Leonard. Pastor Jeremy Nolen will officiate. Family visitation will be Saturday April 21st from 1 until 3 P.M. at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel at Leonard. Following the visitation and funeral Mrs. Hass will be cremated. Mrs. Hass was born July 6, 1957 at Houston, Texas. Her parents were William “Bill” Eugene Melton and Verbenia Frances White Courtney. She was married to Tommy Lee Hass, was a member of the Pentecostal Church and worked in food service for various grocery stores. She passed away at her residence Sunday April 15th. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her four children: Alicia Marie Staggs and Tessa Rene’ Hass of Van, Tammy Lynn Byron and Clayton Marshall Hass of Alba; her five brothers and sisters: Teddy Melton of Plano, Elton Eugene Melton of Leonard, James Lee Merritt of Hubbard, Mary Ann Melton Staley of Leonard and Dorothy Margaret Melton Nash of Cedar Hill; her 6 grandchildren: Shayla Rene’ Bates of Blue Ridge, Thomas William Byron III, Trista Lance Byron, Trevor Lee Byron, Gabriel Thomas Hass and Alexander Lee Hass of Alba; her great grandchild: Alexis McKenzie Burge of Van; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents: William “Bill” Eugene Melton and Verbenia Frances White Courtney.
