Theresa Lewis Mitchell of Plano, Texas passed away September 21, 2011 in Plano at the age of 62. She was born December 20, 1948 to Clyde Woodrow and Inez Eliena (Boyette) Lewis in Mullins, South Carolina. Theresa married John Riley Mitchell on January 20, 1979 in Wilmington, North Carolina. Theresa is a graduate of Floyds High School and Southeastern Community College. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. While living in North Carolina, Theresa worked in various positions within the banking industry. After several years of performing the duties of a stay at home mom, she returned to work for The Plano Independent School District as an office manager at Renner Middle School. She was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Plano, Texas. Theresa is survived by her husband, John Riley Mitchell of 32 years; daughters, Jennifer Boyette Mitchell of Columbus, Ohio and Leslie Mitchell Hill and husband David of Carrollton, Texas; brother, Woodrow Lewis and wife Rita; three beloved nieces; one nephew; their spouses and children and several aunts and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Inez Lewis and sister, Vickie Karen Kitchener. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., September 24, 2011, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow funeral services at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in McKinney/Allen.
