Theodore Leo Scafidi, Sr.

SCAFIDI, Theodore Leo, Sr. of Frisco, TX (Formerly of Newton, MA) passed away on December 1, 2012 at age 82 after a brief illness. He was the son of the late Giuseppe and Antonina (Aquilia) Scafidi, and Beloved husband of 56 years of Beverley (Bradley) Scafidi.

He is survived by his 7 children, Ted “Teddy” Scafidi Jr, Las Vegas, NV, Mark and Robbi Scafidi of Allen, TX, David and Carol Scafidi of Sachse, TX, Dyana and Ted Steeves of Mendon, MA, Sandy and Bill Cammack of Frisco, TX, Christopher and Natalie Scafidi of Blackstone, MA and Jennifer and Dustin Bone of Frisco, TX; Grandchildren Justin, Spenser, Cody, Alyssa, Christina, Emma, Olivia, Ethan, Hannah, Marcus, Natalie, Isabella, Gracie, Dillon, Ellie, Abia, Ruth and Jake; Brother Tony Scafidi of Cape Cod, Ma.

He was preceeded in death by his brothers, Salvator, Leo, Vincent (Jimmy), Martin, Dominic (Mickey) and Charles.

A graduate of Waltham High School in 1947 where he played basketball as the starting guard for 3 years and was named All-star on the Suburban League in his senior year. Ted was an Avid Golfer who enjoyed getting out with his friends on the golf course.

A veteran of the United States Army where he served in the Korean War. After serving our country he continued his education and received a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Bentley College. He went on to become the Treasurer of the City of Newton from 1967 until his retirement in 1991, were he also was the President of the City of Newton Credit Union.

The family will receive friends at a Visitation to be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home from 5-8 PM on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 8000 Eldorado Parkway, Frisco TX 75034 with Msgr. Larry Pichard presiding. Interment will follow at 1:00 PM at DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211 with Msgr. Leon Duesman presiding.

Donations may be made to the St. Francis Building Fund in Ted's memory.
