Mrs. Thelma Zachary, age 89, of Princeton, Texas passed away April 25, 2004, in Farmersville, Texas. She was born January 2, 1915, in Whitmire Indian Territory, Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Jonathan and Francis Willis Whitmire. On November 30, 1936, she married Willie C. Zachary in Crosbyton, Texas. Mrs. Zachary was a homemaker and a member of the Waddill Street Baptist Church in McKinney, Texas. She is survived by her children, Leroy Zachary and wife, Martha of Princeton, Virginia Striplin and husband, Kenneth of McKinney, Texas, Joy LaFon of McKinney, and Melvin Zachary and wife, LaVerne of Canton, Texas; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie C. Zachary; grandson, Stuart Striplin; 7 brothers and 1 sister. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 30, 2004, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Melvin Zachary officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m., Thursday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
