Mrs. Thelma Louise Stevenson, age 55, of Lansdowne, Virginia, passed away October 12, 2004, in Lansdowne, Virginia. She was born March 24, 1949, in McKinney, to Vernon and Baby Ruth (Norris) Davis. She graduated from McKinney High School. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration in management from Michigan State University where she was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. She was a member of the Links, Inc. and on the Board of Directors of the Women’s Shelter. Her first husband, Robert L. Ward, preceded her in death on August 2, 1982. They were married on February 15, 1975, in Richmond, Indiana. She then married James C. Stevenson on August 20, 1983, in Las Colinas, Texas. Mrs. Stevenson was a homemaker and a member of Greater Zion Baptist Church in Loudoun, Virginia. She is survived by her husband, James C. Stevenson of Lansdowne, Virginia; son, Eric Washington, of Plano, Texas; daughters, Tamia L. Ward of Lansdowne, Virginia, LaToya D. Ward of Las Vegas, Nevada, Miranda L. Ward and Sonya L. Ward, both of Lansdowne, Virginia; granddaughter, Tamia N. Washington of Plano, Texas; brother, Carl U. Black of Frisco, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert L. Ward; and brother, Joe Davis. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, October 21, 2004, at the First Baptist Church in McKinney with Rev. Michael Mack, Pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
