Teddy O’Neal Mace, age 82, of Garland, Texas, passed away October 25, 2011, in Dallas, Texas. Teddy was born August 15, 1929, in Rocky, Oklahoma, to Virgil Lee and Ella Odessa (Alexander) Mace. He married Gracie Batey in 1947. Teddy loved fishing, hunting, and camping. He also enjoyed cooking. Many of his friends called him Bear. Teddy worked hard all of his life. He retired after thirty—four years of service with the City of Richardson Water Department. He was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his daughters, Billie Walker and husband, Thomas of Colbert, Oklahoma and Sharon Eaton of Maryville, Tennessee; sons, Charles Mace and wife, Beth of Prosper, Texas, Larry Mace and wife, Alison of Garland, Texas, and Bobby Mace and wife, Tresa of Mesquite, Texas; brother, Victor Mace and wife, Morene of McKinney, Texas; sisters, Bonnie Davidson of Frisco, Texas and Christene McGaugh; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and numerous other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gracie Mace, son, Teddy Mace, Jr., and sisters, Louise Kirkland, Barbara Ann Simmons, Neva Jackson, Laverne Gordon, and Virginia Lay. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 28, 2011, at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas with Earnest Walt officiating. The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 6:00 p.m., Thursday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen.
