Ted Johnson

Mr. Ted Johnson, age 72, formerly of Wichita Falls, Texas, passed away October 21, 2006, at his home in Plano, Texas. He was born February 5, 1934, in Beloit, Wisconsin to Laverne Clayton and Harriet Katherine (Welcher) Johnson. On July 14, 1979 he married Stacy Diamond in New York City, New York. Mr. Johnson founded The World of Outlaws which became the premier sprint car racing organization. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Stacy; his son Rickey Johnson of Carrollton, Texas; his daughters Lori Wood and her husband Mike of Wichita Falls, Texas and Lesa Reimers and her husband Carlton of Allen, Texas; and his grandchildren Jacob and Justin Reimers and Braden Wood. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister and one brother. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 25, 2006, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Father Jay Atwood officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. Mr. Johnson will lie in repose from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Tuesday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
