Susan passed away on April 30th, 2011 at the age of 63. She is succeeded in her death by her husband of 26 years, C. Thomas Mears, Jr. Susan was the daughter of John P. and Ethel Anderson of Wichita Falls, TX. Surviving Susan are her brother, John F. Anderson and his wife Debby of Frisco, TX. Susan has two step sons, Christopher T. Mears, wife Janet of Spencerport, NY with their sons Liam and Owen Mears, and Glenn C. Mears of Baldwinsville, NY, wife Molly and their daughter Mara. She is also survived by her nieces, Amy A. Thompson, husband Philip, their daughter Peyton, and sons Brodie and Hudson, and Melanie Valenti, husband Anthony and son Tyler. Susan graduated from the University of Texas with a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Development. She went on to teach kindergarten in Richardson, TX, Loudon County, VA, and Wiley, TX and pre-kindergarten in Allen, TX. She had that rare gift some teachers have to relate to children of all ages, to motivate them to do their best and was a highly requested teacher at all the schools she taught in. Although she lived in great pain for the last ten years of her life, her spirit and humor were a delight to all those who knew her. We hope that now she can continue on her journey free of pain. There will be no formal viewing or services but instead a gathering at her home in Fairview to celebrate her life on Wednesday, May 4th, 3-6 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make donations to the charity of your choice.
